Salewa Ortles Master Cord 6Mm Precut - orange

The new Ortles Master cord sets new standards in alpine climbing and technical mountaineering: It combines a high breaking strength of over 15 kilonewtons (Kn) with high UV resistance and low weight.

The hybrid construction combines robust polyamide in the sheath with a core made of polyethylene, which has a high molecular weight (UHMW). The material – also known as high-strength PE for simplicity's sake – is lighter and at the same time even stronger than steel and Kevlar. This combination ensures exceptional strength with excellent knotability.

The pre-cut 6 millimeter cord comes with sealed, rounded ends and can be used in a variety of ways: as a Prusik sling, for belay construction, for abseiling as well as for threading hourglasses or for building a pulley.

The special Salewa colour coding, which is also used on the Ortles Dyneema webbing sling, ensures easy handling: The uniform colour system in green, blue, red and grey immediately recognises the lengths and selects them correctly when climbing.
