Mountaineering at higher altitudes, where ice, snow and combined passages alternate, places the highest demands not only on our skills, but also on our equipment. We have developed the Ortles Light Mid Powertex especially for mountaineers who want to move quickly in this terrain. The lightweight, comfortable mid-cut mountaineering boot is extremely technical and agile at the same time - and thus covers a wide range of uses: from rocky terrain to demanding routes in snow and ice.
The Pomoca Alpine Light outsole provides improved grip and traction on varying terrain, while the cushioning EVA midsole ensures high comfort during fast-paced activities. The ankle protection encloses the foot, provides stability and protects against rock and scree.
Salewa's new Edging Plate 2 technology combines high stiffness, which improves edge stability and precision when climbing, with a balanced flex and good rolling behavior for high comfort when walking. In addition, the heel stabilizer, which also allows crampons to be applied, provides improved grip on rocky terrain.
Our proprietary 3F system increases support and stability in the heel area, while the Multi Fit Foodbed Plus (MFF+) and 3D lacing allow for custom lacing and adjustment for even more comfort.
On the outside, a durable nylon fabric with high-strength and abrasion-resistant TPU seams and TPU foils/cover are used, as well as a protective rubber edge - while keeping the overall weight and material thickness as low as possible. The elastic gaiter keeps dirt and small stones out.
This waterproof mountaineering boot has a PFC-free Powertex membrane, laces made from recycled materials and other recycled components. This means that the Ortles Light Mid Powertex is characterised by a low ecological footprint – and is the first shoe to be part of the Salewa Committed collection.
