Salewa North-X Hammer Ice Axe - night/black

The North-X ice axe is the perfect ice axe for classic north face routes - and thus all areas of use in technical mountaineering, from steep firn fields to climbing in mixed or ice terrain to glacier crossings. The highlight of the North-X ice axe is the special handle construction: The hand rest, which can be infinitely height-adjusted with one hand and without tools, locks up on pressure and thus offers maximum support when climbing on the ice or rock face. If, on the other hand, you grab the ice axe by the head of the ice axe and poke into the snow on a steep firn wall, the palm rest slides upwards, so that the mountaineer gains altitude in a particularly time- and energy-saving way. The hot-forged, aggressive interchangeable pick and the 20° offset shaft guarantee a balanced swing behavior and enable safe and efficient placement in any ice and on the rock. The grip zone made of insulated plastic effectively protects against the cold, especially on long tours. Thanks to the integrated belay loop with 5kN tear resistance, the North-X is also perfect for belay construction.
