Fits and Sizing Logic
| System | Meaning |
|---|---|
| UK-Based Sizing | Garmont develops its footwear sizing around the UK system. |
| Half UK Size | Represents approximately 5 mm difference in length. |
| Regular | Standard fit used on many trekking, hiking and tactical models. |
| Wide | Wider fit available on selected models only. |
| Precise Fit | Closer, more precise fit for technical approach and mountain footwear. |
| WMS | Women's-specific fit and size range. |
Important: A larger shoe size does not replace the correct width. Wide feet should use a designated Wide model where available. Technical Precise Fit models may feel closer than Regular or Wide footwear.
Typical Size Ranges
| Product Category | Size Range | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Women's WMS | EU 35–42.5 | Typical official women's range |
| Men's / Unisex | EU 35–50.5 | Not every size is available for every model |
| Kids / Junior | EU 28–39 | Depending on model |
| Tactical Regular / Wide | Model-specific | Check the fit on the product page |
How to Measure the Feet
| Step | Instructions |
|---|---|
| 1. Wear the Correct Socks | Measure while wearing the hiking, trekking or work socks you intend to use. |
| 2. Place Paper Against a Wall | Place one edge of the paper directly against a straight wall. |
| 3. Put the Heel Against the Wall | Stand upright on the paper with the heel touching the wall. |
| 4. Mark the Longest Toe | Mark the tip of the longest toe on the paper. |
| 5. Measure Both Feet | Use the longer foot when selecting the size. |
| 6. Compare with the Chart | Match the measured foot length with the CM column. |
Fitting: Try trekking and mountain footwear in the afternoon while wearing the intended socks. The toes need sufficient room while the heel should remain securely held. Break new footwear in on shorter walks before longer tours.
Not every EU, UK or US size is available for every Garmont model. WMS, Tactical, Wide and technical mountain footwear may use their own size ranges or fits.
