For ACADEMY bikes, body height is more important than age when choosing the correct children's or youth bike. Recommended size ranges can differ by model, so the specification for the exact model always takes priority.

The values in this table are model-specific manufacturer specifications. For the Trail 7, ACADEMY lists frame sizes RH33 and RH38, but the product page used does not provide a separate body-height assignment for each frame size.

Inseam – general guide by wheel size

ACADEMY recommends using inseam length as an additional reference. The manufacturer explicitly describes the following values as a general guide.

How to measure inseam

  • Have the child stand barefoot against a wall with the legs slightly apart.
  • Place a book between the legs and move it gently upwards.
  • Measure from the top edge of the book down to the floor.
  • Compare the inseam measurement together with body height and the model-specific ACADEMY recommendation.
Important for correct sizing: A bike that is too large can make mounting, dismounting and handling more difficult. The child should be able to control the bike safely and reach the ground reliably with their feet. ACADEMY also recommends a test ride. If specifications differ, the individual product page takes priority.
